Fujifilm Announces the X-T5 Mirrorless Camera and Fujinon XF 30mm f/2.8 Macro Lens

Fujifilm fans, rejoice! The company has announced the X-T5, the latest mirrorless camera in their popular and respected X Series, and it comes with some impressive new features and upgrades. They have also announced the Fujinon XF 30mm f/2.8 Macro lens, offering a versatile focal length and high magnification capabilities. 

Fujifilm X-T5 Mirrorless Camera

The X-T5 is the fifth generation of the X-T camera series, and it comes with a variety of new features and upgrades:

Look for the X-T5 to be available later this month at a suggested price of $1,699.95 for just the body, $2,099.95 when paired with the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS, and $2,199.95 when paired with the XF 16-80mm f/4 R OIS WR.

Fujinon XF 30mm f/2.8 Macro Lens

With a full frame equivalent focal length of 46mm, the XF 30mm f/2.8 Macro offers a standard prime focal length in tandem with true 1:1 macro capabilities. It comes with a range of features, including: 

  • 1:1 maximum magnification (minimum focusing distance: 3.94 inches)
  • 11 elements in 9 groups
  • Three aspherical elements and two ED elements for reduced distortions and aberrations and increased sharpness
  • Inner Focus system for focus speeds as fast as 0.02 seconds
  • Weight: 6.88 ounces (195 g)
  • Length: 2.74 inches (6.95 cm)
  • Dust- and weather-resistant design with nine seals

I moved from XT2 to XH2 - it is has been a great upgrade so far. I guess I do not miss those dials that much. I assume other Fuji fans would want those dials. It is the fun part of using Fuji cameras especially if you are a still photographer. With better autofocus and a bigger sensor and more colors I am sure it will make them happy. Excellent price to top it.
