Building on the success of the Google Pixel 4, the new Pixel 5 is rumored to launch on September 30 likely along with the Pixel 4a 5G, and now some new specs look to have been leaked ahead of the launch,
I've been a fan of the Google Pixel phones since the Pixel 2 launched back in 2017 and each iteration of the smartphones have got more intelligent with better camera quality. Now, the Google Pixel 5 is due to launch in just over a month's time and Android Central have leaked some specifications they've managed to get their hands on.
The new Pixel 5 is due to ship with a 6 inch OLED display that runs at 90Hz which is 0.3 inches bigger than the 5.7 inch display in the Google Pixel 4. Nothing huge by today's standards, but still a bit more screen real estate which will come in handy for image editing. On the back we should see a dual camera unit, equipped with both standard and ultra-wide angle lenses but focal lengths aren't yet confirmed.
Android Central also notes it's likely to have 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, though as we see often in smartphones the Pixel 5 might ship with multiple storage size options. Internally, the new phone is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset and would probably be capable of 5G when you look over at the specs for the mobile platform over on the Qualcomm site.
The Google Pixel 5 is also due to support 15W Qi wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging for those in a hurry or out with friends with compatible reverse wireless charging from the Pixel 5. Details from Google are yet to be announced, but Android Central seem confident in the specs they've leaked because they say "...we've obtained more info on the Pixel 5 and 4a 5G from people familiar with Google's upcoming phones".
If they pack a good battery, my pixel 2 will sunset finally (charging doesn't work proper due to some hardware issue). Otherwise, let's see.
I've had a Pixel 2 for longer than I've had any other phone and love it.
Larger screen (smaller bezels but keep both front firing speakers), keep the fingerprint reader, and add 1 or 2 cameras on the back and I'd prefer a "tele" vs an ultrawide but I'd really prefer all 3. That's what I want in a pixel 5.
Don't care about 5Gand don't want soli.
