Repost of Oil and Water

This image had some banding issues. I think I have it fixed and thought I'd try it out again. It is oil floating on water in low light. I was going for a very abstract black and white image with just the edges and lines of the oil visible.

Feedback welcome.

Shadow on the Rail

A while back I posted a shot of the shadow of grass on a guardrail. I received some helpful feedback so when I was at that location again today, I thought I'd try again. Well, the grass hasn't grown tall enough to cover the rail yet but there were some branches creating shadows. Here goes take 2!

Behind Bars

This past weekend I was in one of the old abandon places that I lurk around. There are bars on the windows. They look like there was a minimal effort to make them not look like bars on the windows but ... they are what they are.

The inside of the building is really dark and the outside really bright. I must have been thinking that this...

A pit stop while Hiking at the coffee estate. An old door invites to show its expressions. Mid-day sun gives the opportunity of admiring the shadow. Result of all this is being shared.

Just as I found it

I was walking through the woods of a city-owned property and came upon a pair of shoes. The other shoe was under the log, and I didn't want to disturb the scene; I wanted to keep it exactly as it was when I first saw it.

ancestral lands of beasts

Hidden beyond the National Park of Peneda-Gerês, lies a land lost in time with traditions of cattle raising and strong religious beliefs that go back to pagan times. This funemenal atmosphere full of mysticism, mystery and mists is fed by isolation and is one of my favorite places.

I mentioned surfers in another post this morning so I thought I'd drop this in. When I was teaching myself about action/panning, I started hanging out at the beach taking shots of surfers. I would connect with the kids and give them anything I got.

My goal for them was to make them look like they are riding huge waves when in reality...

Suggested NJ Destination - Sandy Hook

Just for fun, I thought I'd share a little survey of one of my favorite locations. I enjoy seeing where you all have been and this seemed like a fun idea. These are all from Sandy Hook, NJ. The old military base is a gold mine for photography. There is so much to see that you can't even do it in a day. Maybe even more.

Blind and Harmonious

In a small town of Peru this blind harpist carries his harp from home to marketsquare on his back. He has done this for 30 years.
He will play for any who wish to listen.
That's dedication !

Con Cave

In a long narrow corridor full of cells for convicts, a lone skylight far above set in a concave ceiling offers very little natural light.
