Welcome to Group! Introduce Yourself :)

Hey everyone,

I have been a long time follower/reader of FStoppers and have been in love with the new community. Personally, my passion for photography stems from a deep, unhealthy for my wallet/bank account, passion for the automotive world so I thought I would create this group as a place for all of you who share that passion to post...

My First Automotive Capture

Hello everyone, I am very excited to be a new member to the Fstoppers community. I have been shooting for a little under 2 years. Still a newbie but learning and growing everyday.

This is my first automotive shot and i'm pretty happy with it. Shot from a skyway at a drag strip above the starting line through a retaining fence.

Altima Studio

While the director was setting up the final shot, he was nice enough to let me grab some stills before the next take.

Full team of grip/electric to create a mobile studio in a Pasadena parking lot.

Wedding Cars

I am not what some people would call a "petrol head" but I love cars, particularly the older ones and also the petrol stations etc. Here is a shot on captured on a wedding which also had an old petrol bowser as well in a museum situated in South Australia's Riverland.

First Car Meet

My buddy invited me out to a car meet he was going to where many super cars were expected, I thought I would go and here are my results

Any tips/critiques for this Corvette detail shot?

Hello all,

I'm very new to photography but not new to cars. With only a few weeks of shooting my new camera I'm trying to draw on the latter experience to highlight what I think are the interesting angles and features of cars I'm familiar with. Hopefully to compensate for my lack of photographic experience :)

So with that, what...

Restored Shell Gas Station

I took this photo at the same museum where the Rolls Royce in another post of mine is located. An early 20th Century Shell gas station was brought to the museum grounds and restored, complete with a 1950s auto in the mechanics bay. I took several photos of the complete building from several angles, but I wanted to try a close-up image of the...

Rolls Royce Phantom II

I shot this Rolls Royce at a large automobile museum in Michigan this past spring. The galleries were packed with cars - almost bumper to bumper, and rows of autos parked close together. I was happy to get this photo at a pleasing angle. I cropped out the other cars surrounding it to focus on the Rolls. There are hundreds of small spotlights in...

First Fstoppers post - some recent car show photos

Hello everyone! I just recently discovered and joined Fstoppers. I am an amateur photographer with interests in several areas, including cars. I am a professional graphic designer and that probably affected the way I approached my recent car show photos. It was a crowded show with a lot of visitors and background clutter. Difficult to shoot...

Critique Pt 2: Complete Photoset of Porsche 911/930

I appreciated you guys looking at the Corvette shot but the feedback was to offer more than just a single detail shot. This is the complete photoset I'm proudest of. These were also shot at a Cars and Coffee event but the car was parked away from the main event and I got some nice alone time with it. The spotlessly clean paint and morning light...

BMW i8

The sleek BMW i8 juxtaposed against gritty street graffiti.

As always, critiques are welcome and encouraged.

Thanks in advance,

Our first Family Car- The Holden FX

This was our first family car purchased in the 1950's.My dad gave it a special colour job at the time. This was the first model in a long lineup of Australian made Holden Cars. The more famous FJ followed after this one.Do you remember your first family car and do you have a pic? This was taken at Glasshouse Mountain in Queensland.

Desert Mustangs

Did a shoot for my workplace showcasing the current inventory of Boss Mustangs.

Shot on a scissor lift in our car park using a Nikon D800, a Tamron 24-70mm, and with natural light.

I originally bracketed 5 exposures for each of the two polarizer turns to be safe, however, I managed to get away with just using 3 of them in total...
