How to Make Your Best Landscape Photographs

Landscape photography is a challenging but popular genre, requiring you to have good creative vision, solid technique, savvy editing, and often, just a bit of luck. If you are ready to make better images in 2022, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will give you plenty of great advice to set you on your way in the new year.

Coming to you from Alister Benn of Expressive Photography. this excellent video discusses how to make better landscape photos. One thing I really love about Benn's message is the importance of making photographs that reflect you. With the rise of Instagram and other social media, we can consume more photos than ever, and the way trends tend to cluster on those apps, it can be easy to fall into the trap of chasing the latest aesthetic craze instead of finding your unique creative voice. And that is a shame, because any creative pursuit is far more satisfying and worthwhile if you are being true to who you are instead of constantly trying to keep pace with the latest trend. That is partly why so many professionals constantly preach the importance of continuing personal projects even in the midst of client work. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Benn.

Well said Alister. I feel the same way. It's why I often go off, alone, into the mountains or to remote destinations. Photography may be my primary reason for being there (and I have to thank photography for that inspiration) but just being there takes it to a whole other level.

I am very sorry, but there's no way for a photo of any mountain pass in north Carolina to reflect me.
But I'd like to take it anyway
