How to Import and Export Images in Lightroom More Efficiently

Two of the most fundamental tasks you will perform in Lightroom are importing and exporting images. When you are working with large batches, both processes can take a significant amount of time, and as such, it is well worth taking the time to establish a consistent and efficient system. This excellent video tutorial will show you an effective system to ensure that you are not wasting any time when importing and exporting photos in Lightroom.

Coming to you from Katelyn James, this great video tutorial will show you an effective method for importing and exporting photos in Lightroom. If you often come home with large batches of photos, one of the best things you can do is enable full 1:1 preview generation upon importing. This will increase the importing time, but once it is done, whenever you are ready to edit, you will not have to wait for files to render when you zoom in, which can be really annoying, as it interrupts your creative flow, and can also add a fair amount of time the whole affair. I like to work on other tasks or grab a coffee while this process happens so I can edit smoothly later. Check out the video above for the full rundown from James.

I'm still mad at Lightroom for being so slow to load files that we have to cull in separate programs. How is this not fixed yet?
