Plitvice dressed in Autumn

The process of tufa formation, which in turn forms tufa barriers and creates the lakes, is part of the outstanding universal value for which Plitvice Lakes National Park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
I visited Plitvice Lakes National Park for the first time this autumn and I was amazed of those natural surroundings. Most of all I was amazed because of the slow process that is taking place during centuries. This process is actually changing the habitat and surroundings and what our descendants will witness (if, hopefully, anything of this) will look different from what we see now.
